Vanderpump Rules’ James Kennedy Will Not Face Criminal Charges After His Arrest on Suspicion of Domestic Violence

James Kennedy will not face prosecution following his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence last month.

On Wednesday, January 22, Scott Leemon, the attorney representing the Vanderpump Rules alumnus, announced that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office would not pursue charges related to his December 2024 arrest.

In a press release shared with Livren, Leemon expressed gratitude to the attorney’s office for “conducting a comprehensive and professional examination of the issue concerning my client, James Kennedy.”

“Their thorough investigation validated our initial stance — there was insufficient basis to press charges against Mr. Kennedy,” he stated. “James is thankful to have resolved this issue and is eager to concentrate on his sobriety and his career as a DJ.”

On December 10, Kennedy was taken into custody when the Burbank Police Department responded to his Los Angeles residence “in connection with a dispute between a man and a woman,” a police spokesperson told Livren at that time.

“The inquiry concluded that it was a domestic situation, resulting in Kennedy’s arrest,” the spokesperson stated. “[Kennedy] was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and subsequently posted bail. Official charges are awaiting assessment by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.”

At that moment, TMZ, referencing a law enforcement source, stated that a witness allegedly observed the Bravolebrity engaging physically with an unidentified woman, although authorities did not find any injuries upon their arrival at the location. He was later released on a $20,000 bail.

A representative for Kennedy did not respond to Livren’s request for comment at that time.

It was uncertain whether the unidentified woman was Kennedy’s girlfriend, Ally Lewber, when the news emerged. The couple, who have been in a relationship since January 2022, had been attending Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday celebration together earlier that evening.

Although she did not verify her participation in the event, Lewber expressed gratitude to her supporters following Kennedy’s arrest through a statement posted on her Instagram Stories.

“I appreciate everyone who has shown me love and support and taken the time to check on me,” she wrote. “I’m fine and am taking the necessary time for myself at the moment. I am truly grateful for all the kindness and respect regarding my privacy during this period.”
