Donald and Melania Trump Married 20 Years Ago — and the Guest List Was Fascinating: See the Photos

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump marked their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The duo exchanged vows in 2005 at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea, followed by a celebration at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla. The ceremony was attended by 350 guests.

Their New York-based wedding planner, Preston Bailey, recently shared with Women’s Wear Daily that one of the most unexpected attendees was his 2016 Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton. Her spouse, Bill Clinton, was also present.

Bailey — who also arranged Ivanka Trump’s 2009 wedding to Jared Kushner, as well as Eric Trump’s 2014 wedding to Lara Trump — never anticipated the Trumps’ journey would lead them to the White House. “Not in a million years,” he remarked.

Other prominent attendees included Barbara Walters, Les Moonves, Julie Chen Moonves, Tina Brown, Harold Evans, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Chris Matthews, Stone Phillips, Deborah Norville, Kelly Ripa, Cindy Adams, and Gayle King.

Additional celebrities, according to WWD, included Tony Bennett, Richard Branson, Mohamed Al-Fayed, Steve Wynn, Donna Summer, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, and then-married couples Billy Joel and Katie Lee, Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons, Rudy Giuliani and Judith Giuliani.

Livren previously reported that Mark Consuelos, Paul Anka, Shaquille O’Neal, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Star Jones were also present.

“I recall the media being extremely hectic waiting outside,” Bailey mentioned to WWD.

“It was a non-stop party and incredibly social,” Bailey continued, mentioning that there was an afterparty by the pool. “There were numerous cliques, everyone appeared to be acquainted with one another. The festivities were in full swing with no breaks, so to speak.”

The lavish wedding on Jan. 22, 2005, where every expense “was promptly approved,” signified Donald’s third marriage, following his previous unions with Ivana Trump and Marla Maples.

Donald initially married Ivana in 1977. Throughout their relationship, they had three children together — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. The couple remained married for over a decade before their unexpected separation in 1989, when Ivana discovered Donald’s affair with Maples. Their divorce was finalized in 1992.

After their separation, Donald maintained his relationship with Maples. In 1993, their daughter, Tiffany Trump, was born, and a few months later, Donald and Maples got married. Their union lasted only a few years, leading to their separation in 1997. Their divorce proceedings spanned two years, during which Donald met Melania.

One year after Donald and Melania exchanged vows, they welcomed their first child together, Barron Trump, in 2006. Barron is the youngest of Donald’s five children.
